Flask - Terracotta

Pilgrim flask in tin-glazed terracotta from the Italian Manufacture, dating to the 18th century. It features decorations with grotesque and Raphael-esque motifs with sphinxes and winged dragons on the sides. In the center there is a profile portrait enclosed in an oval blue and brown medallion. The two side handles feature two relief mascaroni (grotesque masks) where the leather strap passed, used to be worn on the shoulder or at the belt.
