Description from the seller
Title: The Dance of Freedom
Artist: M. Perone
Technique: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 40 x 30 cm
Oil painting on canvas by M. Perone, 40×30 cm, characterized by a refined contemporary figuration in which the female figure becomes a symbol of freedom, elegance and vitality. At the center of the composition is depicted a young woman in profile, with her face delicately turned upward and eyes half-closed, in a stance suspended between contemplation and surrender. Long black hair, swept by the wind, unfolds into wide, fluid locks that emphasize the sense of movement in the scene.
Particularly evocative is the dress, built through an intense succession of color fields in red, blue, yellow, orange and turquoise. The painterly, tactile brushwork gives the gown a almost textile character, transforming it into a dynamic and strongly decorative element. At the base of the figure, small spontaneous flowers introduce a naturalistic note and reinforce the harmonious relationship between the woman and the surrounding environment.
Around the protagonist, a group of birds in flight rises, a central element of the work’s symbolic language. Their movement creates a circular rhythm and idealy guides the gaze upward, evoking lightness, independence and the longing for freedom. The background, dominated by blue-green tones and a tactile and luminous painting, suggests an airy atmosphere, almost suspended between sky and landscape.
The work unites figuration, chromatic sensitivity and symbolic suggestion, with a balance between the elegant presence of the female figure and the dynamism of the birds. The vibrancy of the dress harmonizes with the delicacy of the background, creating a visually striking and immediately communicative whole.
