Double-gourd ceramic vase with a narrow neck and small circular opening. Matte turquoise glaze enhanced with irregular golden drips and textured volcanic patches distributed across the entire surface. Strong contrast between smooth turquoise zones and granular golden areas. Accompanied by its signed tomobako.

Morino Hiroaki Taimei 森野泰明 (1934–)
Ceramist born in Kyoto. Trained in Kyoto, he taught ceramics at the University of Chicago in the 1960s. Develops a style marked by sculptural forms and expressive glazes with high contrast. Exhibited in Japan, Europe, the United States and Australia. Named Person of Cultural Merit (文化功労者) in 2021. Works held in the collection of the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art (Cornell University) and in several public museums in Japan and the United States.
