Bernard Loriot (1925–1998)
Norman figurative painter Bernard Loriot established himself as one of the artists attached to Honfleur and to the Seine estuary. Self-taught, he developed from the 1950s a luminous, lively and spontaneous painting, marked by the influence of the Honfleur masters and by a careful observation of ports, beaches and urban scenes.
His colorful seascapes, animated sailing ships, Venice landscapes and his Parisian views constitute the core of a warm body of work, immediately recognizable.
