Aldo Mazza - Magazzini Vittoria - 1970s

The artwork is a fascinating and iconic advertising poster created by the renowned Italian painter and billboard artist Aldo Mazza for Milan's historic Magazzini Vittoria. The graphic composition perfectly embodies the aesthetic standards of the Liberty movement. At the center dominates an elegant, sinuous female figure, wrapped in draperies of colored fabrics (antique pink, ochre, and blue) that float lightly in space. The woman is depicted in a plastic and graceful pose as she gazes at a majestic peacock in the lower-left corner, the quintessential symbol of vanity, beauty, and refinement, with a plumaged tail rich in colored eyes that decorates the base of the image.
