Beautiful finely executed work by the Marseille painter Alexandre Isailoff, depicting a view of Fort Saint-Jean in Marseille.
The artist has perfectly captured the fort's architecture.
Born in Constantinople, he studied with Régnier at the École nationale des Beaux-Arts de Marseille, then with Jean-Baptiste OLIVE. In the end, he pursued a career as a painter-draughtsman. He completed his preparation with a trip to the Orient, after which he returned to France and settled in Paris. He exhibited in various Salons, including the Champs-Élysées. His production is devoted to representing, with warm colors, landscapes of Provence and Italy.
Note: Watercolor in good condition, slightly detached and with a few small stains.
Dimensions: 75 x 54 cm without frame and 83.5 x 63 cm with its wooden frame.
