On this vertical format, Medsan stages two kaiju paws closed around a very small tree. The bottom paw opens like a palm and carries a low, wide cup where a miniature pine grows: twisted trunk, roots knotted to the surface of the clump, cushions of needles spread out in plateaus. Three pale, thick, curved claws frame the cup without ever touching it.

Above, the second paw descends. Two fingers pinch a pair of miniature garden shears, blades still open on the cut they have just made; the detached twig floats to the right, needles dispersed, while a claw passes behind it in the background. The rounded scales cover the fingers like tight pebbles, and everything sits within a range of warm grays on a plain beige background, with no other color. An enormous force restrained for a gesture of a millimeter.

A sober and graphic piece, ideal for adding an unusual touch to a minimalist interior of a collector devoted to imaginary worlds.

Under the name Medsan, he explores the universe of medicine and anatomy; under the name Popsan, he revisits icons of popular culture by blending pop art, Japanese art, and anachronisms.
