On this square format, Medsan stages Totoro, the forest spirit from My Neighbor Totoro, sleeping on its back at the foot of a large tree. Eyes closed, ears laid back, snout raised to the sky, it lets its open claws fall along its white belly. Above it, the trunk rises beyond the frame in long blue veins and its roots spread into spirals on either side of the body.
Three soot sprites have settled on this belly around a acorn that one of them clutches to her, while a small white Totoro, a red bundle on its head, stands nearby the group. Blue leaves fall into the white of the left side, two red leaves punctuate the right. Everything is blue on white, crossed by a fine network of brown cracks and broad gold lines.
