Andrea Krauß ranks among the prominent figures in contemporary German painting.
The recipient of the AOK Nordost Art Prize (Berlin/Brandenburg) and former fellow of the renowned Lukas Artist House in Ahrenshoop completed her studies at the Braunschweig University of Art. For many years she has devoted herself to painting and today lives and works in her studio in the heart of Berlin.

At the center of her artistic work is the fusion of memory, atmosphere and landscape. Starting from personal impressions, Andrea Krauß develops imagery that goes beyond the individual and touches universal experiences of nature, space and transience. Recurring motifs include especially birches and other elements of nature, whose quiet presence merges with traces of human shaping and memory.
