Babi Bensusan - CATORCE

CATORCE (92 x 60 cm. Acrylic on 100% natural cotton canvas. 2024) belongs to the Bodegones Automáticos collection by the artist Babi Bensusan. An emerging, self-taught artist based in Madrid, she has held multiple solo exhibitions as well as participated in group exhibitions. Her work is included in private collections in Spain, France and the United States.

Signed on the back in bar oil (spray-varnished). It is shipped rolled and with a hand-signed certificate of authenticity.

Bodegones Automáticos is a collection developed from 2023 to 2025. It explores different formats, painting, ceramics, mural and intervention. The project sought to free the artist from self-censorship and blocks, culminating in cheerful and colorful automatic painting that aims to place the enjoyment of the process at the center.

CATORCE // Always together, always apart // can form part of a diptych with the work TRECE. Both works dialogue in color and composition. They function independently as a set. The flowers with eyes are the signature of the Bodegones Automáticos collection, seeking an intimate meeting point between the viewer and the canvas, also creating a certain sense of intrigue—are we aware that we are observers and observed? TRECE and CATORCE have warm colors that create a welcoming atmosphere.
