"The Conceiver" is a wall sculpture by Francioni Mastromarino.
It is a secular altar, designed to be displayed with ease thanks to a hook on the back and durable enough for outdoor use, thanks to durable and sustainable materials.
The work embodies the Creator Woman, capable of generating not only in the body but also in the spirit and thought. In her reflection lie intuition, the ability to welcome and transform, emotional intelligence, and a deep understanding of the world.
Her "nest", which inspires the hairstyle in the sculpture, is a physical and symbolic place where ideas, emotions and relationships intertwine to become new beginnings. The name “Concipiente,” from Latin con-capere, meaning “to take to oneself” and “to understand”: a double meaning that guides the inspiration of the work, reflecting on the female power to absorb, feel and create connections between interiority and the external world.
Signed in two hands by Eleonora Francioni and Antonio Mastromarino, the work arises from an artistic and human collaboration that has lasted for over twenty years, where artistic research is conceived in synergy.
Traditional techniques blend with a contemporary vision of form and symbol. The sculpture is made of acrylic resin mixed with rice husk (waste from the processing of noble rice turned into a resource and made durable), resting on an aluminum plate. The choice of materials embodies the authors’ pursuit of concrete sustainability.
