Set of 4 Rare Perforated Plates in Artistic Ceramic – Antonibon Manufacture (Nove di Bassano) – Late 19th / Early 20th Century (approx. 1900-1914)
Splendid and elegant set of four decorative wall or display plates in precious maiolica ceramic, crafted by the historic Antonibon manufactory of Nove di Bassano (Vicenza). The pieces are datable to the late 19th century and the early 20th century (circa 1914), a period of extraordinary artisanal mastery for the renowned Veneto manufactory.
Openwork craftsmanship: the plates stand out for a superb hand-cut, richly perforated openwork that recreates a visual effect reminiscent of delicate lace or reticulate netting, faithful to the Rococo Revival repertoire of the Novese tradition.
At the center of each plate sits a refined multicolored floral bouquet painted by hand with a brush, characterized by vivid colors and meticulously detailed botanical elements. The profiles of the perforations are embellished with pastel shading and coordinated color touches.
Factory Mark (Heraldic Star): On the back, each plate bears, under cobalt blue glaze, the prestigious historic mark of the simple six-point heraldic star (no tail). This is the first, famous mark introduced by the Antonibon in the 18th century, which the manufactory chose to reuse from the late 19th to the early 20th century on the finest artistic pieces to certify their fidelity to the original techniques and models. The star is accompanied by the calligraphic signature of the period’s decorator.
