An antique Japanese tray made of wood lacquered in black and decorated using the traditional maki-e technique, with gold motifs that depict an oriental landscape with a bird, flowering branches, mountains, and small boats.

Dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. It shows an attractive patina and signs of wear consistent with its age, including lacquer loss, abrasions, and small marks, all clearly visible in the photographs.
