France - Flag - Bandera tricolor de la Primera Guerra Mundial con placa conmemorativa para casco Adrian

French historical ensemble consisting of a World War I era French tricolor flag and a brass commemorative plate for the Adrian helmet model 1915, intended for veterans of the Great War. The combination of both objects brings together two essential symbols of French memory of the 1914–1918 conflict.

The flag is made in the national French colors blue, white and red. It features period-style seams and textile construction, with wear, stains and alterations in line with its age and use. It is sold as shown in the photographs. Flag size: 60x90 cm.

The plate, curved to fit the front visor of an Adrian helmet, features an oval cartouche surrounded by laurel branches and the inscription “Soldat de la Grande Guerre 1914–1918”. This type of plate was adopted after the war as a tribute to French combatants. A decree of December 18, 1918 authorized military personnel who had served in army formations to keep or receive a commemorative helmet; a circular of April 16, 1919 specified that the inscription should appear on a repoussé brass plate fixed to the visor.

Condition: general condition consistent with age. The flag shows dirt, stains, creases, wear and possible losses or fabric fragility at edges and color areas. The plate shows patina, surface oxidation, wear and signs of handling, but its decoration and inscription remain legible.
