Love n Money 3 continues PVettese’s exploration of the relationship between money, desire, and feelings, through a visual language that blends pop culture, Pop Art, and Street Art.

At the center of the composition, Scrooge McDuck sits atop a spectacular heap of coins, banknotes, wads, and gold bars. Around him, money seems to literally invade the space: bills in motion, scattered coins, and a bag marked with the dollar symbol compose an universe dominated by outward signs of wealth.

Facing this material abundance, one element immediately contrasts: a large red heart deliberately drawn in a scribbled, spontaneous style. Other black hearts, drawn by hand, punctuate the canvas. This confrontation between money and symbols of love invites interpretation: is the accumulation of wealth enough for happiness? Can love resist the domination of money? Is true wealth ultimately internal?

Through Scrooge McDuck, an iconic character of popular culture immediately associated with accumulation and fortune, PVettese humorously subverts the codes of capitalism and material success, without imposing an answer. The work thus leaves the spectator free to interpret this opposition between Love & Money.

Composition and graphic universe

The central scene, particularly dense and figurative, contrasts with a much freer background inspired by Street Art.

The painting combines a vivid palette dominated by fluorescent pink, acid yellow, red, green, black, white, and metallic gold and silver tones. Vertical drips, paint splashes, sprayed areas, gestural traces, lettering, and graphic symbols overlap across the surface.

Typographic fragments around the word “MONEY,” monetary signs, hearts, spontaneous lines, and different textural effects extend the narration into the margins of the composition. The deliberately raw and sometimes faded appearance of certain elements creates a contrast with the more precise and colorful treatment of the central figure.
