Unique
"Out of Frame" is a large-format, expressively figurative portrait that deliberately plays with the boundaries of classical portrait painting. The frontal figure almost fills the image area and seems to extend beyond the prescribed frame.
Neon yellow, pink, orange, and turquoise meet deep black, graphic contours, splashes of color, and freely gestural elements. The deliberately unnatural color palette detaches the face from a realistic depiction and translates expression and posture into bold color fields and visible brushstrokes.
Lettering and graphic signs become part of the composition. "KEEP LOOKING" functions less as a direct message than as a playful invitation to question the first impression and linger longer in the image. The title "Out of Frame" echoes this crossing of boundaries—formally and in content.
The work stands as an exemplar of Laurena Dier / dila.vin studio’s visual language, in which expressive figuration, intensive color contrasts, graphic elements, and a deliberately raw, immediate painting style merge.

Laurena Dier is an Austrian artist and designer who works under the name dila.vin studio. Her training in media and graphic design shapes her unmistakable fusion of painting, color, and graphic imagery.
Her works center on expressive, often strongly cropped portraits and figures. Strong contours, deliberately unnatural skin tones, intense color contrasts, and free, partially abstract areas meet unusual perspectives and an immediate, gestural painting style. Laurena is more interested in the presence, stance, and emotional tension of a person than in a classical likeness.
In 2026, her works were shown at Trauner KUNST Stücken and as part of a charity art exhibition at the Lokschuppm Klaus. Other pieces were presented in the Gmunden area in 2026; a group exhibition at the OKH Vöcklabruck is planned for October 2026. Several original works are already in private collections.
Besides her independent artistic practice, Laurena works professionally in graphic design and visual communication. Under dila.vin studio she continually develops her figurative-expressive visual language and increasingly focuses on large-format works with strong spatial presence.
