For sale is an early Paris edition of a commentary on the first book of the Decretals, an important work of ecclesiastical law in the Middle Ages.

With title border, printer’s mark and a full-page woodcut.

Bound in a flexible parchment binding with a beautiful gold-embossed crest on the front cover. The binding is somewhat stained and wavy, and the back cover has a larger dark discoloration.

The pages are in good condition, partly only slightly stained and overall well preserved. There is usually a very small wormhole, occasionally resulting in minor loss of letters.

Occasionally there are handwritten marginalia.
