AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Original large-format botanical classroom wall chart “Pear Tree / Pyrus communis” from the well-known teaching wall chart series by Jung–Koch–Quentell, published by Lehrmittelverlag Hagemann, Düsseldorf, in collaboration with Frommann & Morian Verlag, Darmstadt.

The historical teaching chart shows the pear tree in various botanical developmental and detail representations: flowering branches with leaves and insects, buds and blossoms, an enlarged cross-section of the flower, whole and cut-open pears, and a schematic diagram of the blossom.

Particularly decorative is the characteristic strong color design of this edition, with a gradient background from light blue to deep blue-green. As a result, the chart today is not only a historical teaching aid and collector’s item, but also excellent as a large-format vintage wall decoration for living room, kitchen, dining room, café, restaurant, practice, office, or studio.

This is an old original and not a modern reproduction. The chart still has the original black wooden battens at the top and bottom, as well as the hanging hardware.

The famous Jung–Koch–Quentell teaching charts were originally developed for natural science instruction. The present specimen belongs to the later edition of Lehrmittelverlag Hagemann and likely dates from the 1950s to early 1960s in terms of design and execution.

The chart is in an authentic, unrestored vintage condition. Age and use have produced creases, horizontal storage/rolling marks, minor edge marks, and other signs of use. The colors are still very vivid and the depiction is complete and highly decorative. Please note the numerous close-up photos as an essential part of the condition description.
