The watch is offered in Grade B condition, displaying visible signs of wear and ageing consistent with its vintage character. The gold-plated case presents scratches, surface marks, oxidation and areas of plating loss, particularly around the bezel, case edges and lugs. The stainless-steel case back also displays scratches and traces of previous use.

The golden dial has developed natural patina, spotting and tonal variation across its surface. The hands and slender hour markers also show age-related traces.

The acrylic crystal displays visible scratches, crazing and age-related surface marks. These imperfections can be clearly observed in the photographs and should be carefully considered before bidding.

The generic black leather strap shows signs of previous use. The original Favre-Leuba box is included and presents wear, marks and ageing consistent with its vintage nature.

The mechanical movement is functioning at the time of listing. As with any vintage hand-wound watch, daily accuracy may vary. No recent service history is available, and future performance cannot be guaranteed.

Story & Heritage

Favre-Leuba traces its origins to Le Locle in 1737, when Abraham Favre was officially recorded as an independent watchmaker. The house is widely regarded as the second-oldest surviving Swiss watch brand, following Blancpain, whose beginnings date to 1735.

Over successive generations, the Favre family developed its watchmaking activity and later joined with the Leuba family, creating the historic Favre-Leuba name. From its roots in Le Locle, the company grew into an internationally recognised manufacture associated with dependable movements, elegant dress watches and innovative sporting instruments.
