Description from the seller
Author: Piotr Wrona
Title: Tuscan Landscape
Technique: acrylic paints on linen canvas
Format: 90 × 90 cm
Support: high-quality linen canvas stretched on a sturdy painter’s frame with a profile of 3 × 5 cm
Technical description:
The composition is executed in acrylic on a square linen support. The painting depicts a stylized still life scene combined with a Mediterranean landscape. The composition juxtaposes everyday objects, vessels, fruits, and decorative elements with a view of the coastal landscape, buildings, and vegetation.
The painterly layer is built from clear, flat, and geometrically simplified color fields. Individual elements are emphasized with strong outlines and definite boundaries between color planes. Visible are hand brushstrokes and a varied surface texture resulting from applying acrylic paint.
In the upper part of the painting there is a vast blue sky with a bright circular sun and a view of hills and sea. In the background, a light Mediterranean-style building is depicted, complemented by slender, dark trees. A small sailboat is visible on the water. The central and lower parts of the composition are occupied by an elaborate still life with large vessels, a pitcher, a goblet, a bowl with fruit, and single fruits arranged on a geometrically divided tabletop.
A distinctive element of the composition is a large vessel in yellow–orange tones located on the left side, and a dark vessel with a decorative eye motif in the central part. On the right is a light pitcher with colored fields and a decorative chalice in turquoise and purple hues. The bowl contains, among other things, an orange, grapes, and other fruits, and additional fruits are arranged next to it in vivid colors.
The palette includes intense shades of blue, turquoise, green, yellow, ochre, orange, red, brown, purple, pink, black, and white. The use of saturated color contrasts and the pairing of cool and warm planes enhance the decorative character of the composition and emphasize individual elements of the depiction.
The space is presented in a synthetic and conventional manner, using simplified shapes, flat color surfaces, and a restricted perspective. Individual objects are deliberately enlarged and arranged to serve the rhythm of the composition. The distant landscape provides a contrast to the elaborate still life in the foreground.
The painting is executed on a linen canvas stretched on a sturdy frame with a profile of 3 × 5 cm. The format 90 × 90 cm provides a large display area and allows for a clear presentation of the multi-element composition. The use of acrylic paints ensures intensity and durability of the color layers.
