Decorative wall sculpture in wood, entirely carved and hand-painted, depicting the symbolic union of the Sun and Moon in a single anthropomorphic face.
The work is characterized by a rich crown of multilayer flaming rays. The painted finish is realized with a suggestive crackle effect (cracking of the varnish) that gives the piece an antique charm and a vibrant materiality. The central face adeptly fuses the cosmic duality:
The Sun: warm tones of gold and ivory streaked.
The Moon: dark tone with a golden mosaic/crackle pattern.
