Picture frame - Brass - Art Nouveau style

Magnificent and elegant Art Nouveau-style photo frame (late 19th / early 20th century).

Made of cast brass, pierced and finely chased, this frame has benefited from meticulous cleaning that remarkably highlights its original shine and the complexity of its motifs. It perfectly illustrates the Belle Époque aesthetic with its fluid, asymmetrical lines, and enveloping vegetal and floral motifs.

It is adorned on the left side with a graceful bas-relief depicting a draped female figure interacting with a putto holding a garland of flowers. An ornamental cartouche is molded in the upper part, bearing the period model number ‘1786’.

• Condition: Very good condition. The brass has been carefully cleaned to revive its shine while preserving the relief. Presence of the back and original stand with a handwritten inscription from the period.
