The Holy Bible of the Old and New Testament, according to the ordinary version of the Reformed churches, revised from the originals and refined in language.
Revised and corrected edition by Samuel Scholl, pastor of the French Church of Bienne, after the Bible of David Martin.

Important folio volume of the 18th century, in its old brown leather binding, spine with raised bands and gilt title “The Holy Bible.”
The work contains the Old and New Testaments and is abundantly illustrated with engraved plates depicting numerous biblical episodes. The bibliography of this edition notes a frontispiece engraved and up to 176 vignettes spread across 22 plates hors texte for a complete copy.
Pagination: [10] preliminary pages + 750 pp. + 130 pp. + 244 pp. + 48 pp., i.e. 1,172 numbered pages (plus 10 preliminary pages unnumbered).
Condition
Ancient copy showing significant signs of use consistent with its nearly 280 years.
Leather binding very rubbed, with wear, loss of leather and old marks on the boards and spine. Corners and heads worn.
The title page shows several tears, losses and old restorations/consolidations visible. Some other pages have also undergone old repairs to the paper.
Presence of foxing, browning, stains and traces of aging."
