Absolutely gorgeous Vintage Omega 18K Solid Gold – Oversized 37.5 mm – Cal. 30 T2 – 1945
An impressive and elegant vintage Omega from 1945, housed in a solid 18K gold case and powered by the legendary manual-winding Omega calibre 30 T2.
One of the strongest features of this watch is its size. With a diameter of 37.5 mm excluding the crown, it is exceptionally large for a mid-1940s Omega and has a much stronger wrist presence than most watches from this period. The beautifully shaped decorative lugs give the case a distinctive and refined character, while the solid gold construction adds considerable visual presence and collectibility.
The silvered dial has been professionally restored and presents very attractively. It features large Arabic numerals at 12, 3 and 9, elegant applied gold-tone hour markers, matching dauphine-style hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The combination of the clean silvered surface, black numerals and warm gold details creates a very balanced and classic vintage appearance.
The 18K solid gold case is well preserved and displays the elegant proportions typical of high-grade Omega dress watches from the 1940s. The inside of the case back carries the appropriate Omega and gold markings.
The watch is fitted with an old period-correct crown, which suits the age and character of the watch very well.
Inside is the famous Omega calibre 30 T2, one of the most respected hand-wound movements in Omega’s history. The movement bears serial number 10,431,504, dating the watch to approximately 1945. It is a beautifully constructed movement and an important part of Omega’s classic 30 mm calibre family.
The watch is fitted with a new black genuine leather strap, finished with an aftermarket gold-plated buckle.
