Lalique France – “Hirondelle” Crystal Swallow Bookend
Elegant Lalique “Hirondelle” swallow bookend in clear and satin-finished crystal, signed “Lalique France” on the base.
The Hirondelle design was originally created in 1942. This example is a later Lalique production, dating approximately from the 1960s–1970s.
The sculpture depicts a swallow in flight, with finely modelled wings and plumage. The combination of polished transparent crystal and satin-finished surfaces beautifully emphasises the sculptural form and movement of the bird.
