Gyl (XX) - Le Songe d'Edora

About the work:
In the rosy light of a Mediterranean morning, Edora appears as a figure escaped from an ancient dream. Her long red hair, set ablaze by the hues of dawn, blends with a crown of wildflowers as a pale drapery glides around her silhouette.
Behind her, the tranquil waters, distant reliefs, and the stone architecture compose an ideal landscape, halfway between the real Mediterranean and a dreamed Arcadia. The white flowers that bloom near Edora extend the scene’s softness and become symbols of a rebirth of nature.
The tilt of the head and the lowered gaze introduce a note of silence and interiority. Edora does not seem to pose: she appears absorbed in a secret moment, a stranger to the gaze that contemplates her.
