Ludwig Gottfried Blanc, Vocabolario Dantesco, 1st edition published in 1852 by Jean Ambroise Barth in Leipsic, original language Italian with the volume bound in green half-leather and decorative green goffered boards, containing 574 pages and measuring 21.5 × 13.5 cm, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Rare first edition of the celebrated and esteemed critical-linguistic study on the Divine Comedy by the German philologist and Dante scholar Ludwig Gottfried Blanc. Considered a true cornerstone of 19th-century Dantean lexicography, the work was described by Fiske as "...it may be called an 'epoch-making' book in the history of the study of Dante" (Fiske I, 136).
