"Traces in Time": Geometric shapes and thin lines seem to emerge and disappear on the surface. Earth tones, rust, grays, brown and beige build a severe balance interrupted by a small violet accent. Signs and overlaps become traces of something that time has transformed but not erased.

PAOLO CONTIN has been developing a personal and ever-evolving artistic path for more than twenty-five years. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he brings to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form, and compositional balance.

Since 1999 he has exhibited his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This was followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with presence in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.

Paolo Contin’s artistic journey is also documented by his inclusion in the Art Mondadori Catalog with related price references. Over the years his works have also appeared in Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo exhibitions and major art fairs, some of which were published with support from the Italian Cultural Institute.

He was also among the founding members of Tostart, an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Venetian artists and active until the period of the Pandemic.

A versatile and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or trend. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, fields, geometric shapes, and intense color relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he explores balance, movement, and emotion.

Experimentation also extends to sculpture and wood, with works created through the overlaid combination of geometric elements, confirming a research that goes beyond the confines of painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without predefined formulas: every work arises from a desire to preserve freedom, identity, and expressive authenticity.
