Description from the seller
Although viticulture in Margaux goes back several centuries, the modern revival of the estate began in 1978, when the Mentzelopoulos family took over the property. André Mentzelopoulos made significant investments in the vineyards and the cellars, laying the foundations for a new era of excellence. His daughter, Corinne, continued this vision after her father's premature death and made the wise decision to appoint Paul Pontallier as oenologist in 1983. Pontallier's work spanned 33 vintages, consolidating Margaux's reputation for precision and elegance. Today, Philippe Bascaules and Sébastien Vergne keep this legacy alive, working alongside consultant Eric Boissenot to guarantee both continuity and innovation.
The 82 hectares of the estate are situated on the gravel soils characteristic of the Margaux appellation. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates the plantings, but at Château Margaux they also produce an exclusive white wine named "Pavillon Blanc", a pure Sauvignon Blanc that exemplifies the estate's versatility. One of the best white wines in the region.
This lot consists of two bottles of this dry white wine from the 2008 vintage, a wine full and energetic that reveals a precise character and intensely aromatic, with an agile body and more pronounced acidity. Margaux wines are renowned for their floral aroma and refined texture; however, beneath this elegance lies formidable structure and depth.
Right now it's ready to enjoy, although it still holds much aging potential.
The bottles are in perfect condition of preservation, as they have always been kept in wine refrigerators, at a controlled temperature between 16 and 18 ºC, humidity at 85%, and protected from light.
