Abyssol, 2025.
Edition 3/15.
Abstract work made in steel, lacquered orange and black finish.
35x32x30 cm.
Created by the Spanish sculptor Pedro Rey (1977). His artistic career began self-taught in 1998, after going through various learning workshops such as painting, photography, and sculpture; he decided to focus his work on the latter, with sculpture taking center stage in his practice in recent years.
Competitions in which he has been selected:
- 2020. International Askatasunarte Competition
- 2021. XXV Pere Jou Sculpture Contest
- 2023. 17 City of Badajoz Sculpture Award
The Geometry of Space. His work is characterized by a sensibility that links Art and Architecture through the construction of volumes, defining voids and hidden spaces, inviting the viewer to engage with them through imagination. Suggestive, mystical spaces, enveloped by active and ethereal shadows generated within them. Multiple internal landscapes that awaken the self and thought. Each generated landscape places us in a shelter-cavern where there are several entrances to places that evoke mystical architectural spaces in total flux.
