Candleholder - Brass - Menorah candlestick

Beautiful decorative classic seven-armed menorah, one of the oldest and most recognizable symbols in Judaism. Israel circa 1980-1990

This specific model is crafted from solid brass or patinated bronze. The design is strongly inspired by the large menorah that stands outside the Knesset (the Israeli parliament) in Jerusalem.

Symbolism: The arms and the central shaft are intricately decorated with reliefs that symbolize the twelve tribes of Israel. This is reflected in the various biblical images and fruits, such as grapes, pomegranates, and figs, woven into the braiding.

Seven branches: Unlike the nine-branched Hanukkiah (which is used specifically for the Hanukkah festival), the traditional menorah has seven arms. This refers to the candelabrum that originally stood in the Tabernacle and later in the Temple of Jerusalem.

Dimensions: about 23 cm high and 24 cm wide.

Condition: in good condition with minimal signs of use.
