AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This is the legendary tri-ocular binocular telescope, the "TRIOG", with a revolver turret, produced by the prestigious Officine Galileo in Florence. Made in Italy between 1938 and 1939 from an original Zeiss design.
It was used as a aiming and observation telescope by the Regia Marina, installed mainly on the turrets and on the decks of battleships.
From careful research cross-checking serial number (it is the very first order, no. 45 of the 1938 production), post-disassembly markings (M. MARINA, naval material), and the site of discovery, the Triog belonged to the ship Cavour, semi-sunk in the Historic Night of Taranto in 1940. It is still perfectly functional with its original bracket.
