"Energy": a work built through chromatic contrasts and instinctive painterly gestures. Black and deep blue traverse the composition while sudden flashes of red disrupt the balance and imprint movement onto the surface. Runs, splashes and free marks transform color into ENERGY, giving life to a painting that is direct, dynamic, and deliberately irregular.

PAOLO CONTIN has been developing his own artistic path for over twenty-five years, a continually evolving trajectory. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form, and compositional balance.

Since 1999 he has exhibited his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This was followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with presence in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Sydney.

The artistic journey of Paolo Contin is also documented by his presence in the Mondadori Art Catalogue with related quotations. Over the years his works have also been published in the Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes created for solo exhibitions and major art fairs, some of which were published with the support of the Italian Institute of Culture.

He was also among the founding members of Tostart, an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Veneto artists and active until the pandemic period.

An eclectic and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or trend. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, fields, geometric shapes, and intense color relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he investigates balance, movement, and emotion.

Experimentation extends to sculpture and wood as well, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a research that goes beyond the boundaries of painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without prearranged formulas: each work is born from the desire to preserve freedom, identity, and expressive authenticity.
