Offered at auction: a beautiful bottle of Glenmorangie Bacalta, the now rare and highly sought-after 8th release in the distillery's renowned and award-winning Private Edition series.

"Bacalta" is the Celtic word for "baked," which directly refers to the unique maturation of this single malt. After initial maturation in former bourbon casks, this whisky has undergone extensive additional maturation (finish) in specially selected, sun-drenched casks that previously held the sweetest and most exclusive Madeira wine: Malmsey Madeira.

Under the direction of Dr. Bill Lumsden, this has resulted in an incredibly complex and summery profile full of notes of ripe apricots, white chocolate, honey, dates, and subtle spices.

An absolute must-have for the serious Glenmorangie collector or the enthusiast of exceptional wood finishes. The bottle, label, capsule, and original packaging are in excellent (collectible) condition. The fill level is perfect (in the neck).
