Irène Jonas (1957) - Un été sans fin 12

Children’s games, from the series An Endless Summer 2021. A unique work, signed and numbered 1/1. Black-and-white print on baryta paper enhanced with oil paint. “There is in childhood summers a certain timeless je ne sais quoi. On this little shore in the south Finistère, where friends, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren gather every year, nothing hinders the freedom of movement. The beach offers an unlimited playground and only the landscapes and activities vary with the tides. This time so pleasantly repetitive - beach, swimming, snack – gives a sense of eternity, summer cannot end… Summer is endless.”
