Description from the seller
Antique English Victorian Sideboard of the Nineteenth Century with Display Cabinets and Painted Medallion
Important English sideboard from the Victorian era, dating to the nineteenth century, characterized by an elegant and richly decorated structure. The unit features a warm wooden essence with particularly evident grain on the large central door, embellished with fine geometric inlays. In the center stands a refined oval painted medallion with a gallant scene, framed by a metallic frame and completed below by a decorative vegetal-motif frieze.
The upper band is enriched with delicate floral and ornamental motifs inlaid, which continue harmoniously also on the side parts. The front is scored by vertical decorative elements with small metallic details at the top. On the sides there are two display-glass doors with a characteristic curved line, which allow the objects inside to be highlighted.
Opening the three doors gives access to spacious internal compartments with shelves: the side ones follow the curved shape of the structure, while the central compartment offers a wide storage space. The shaped base and the small turned front feet complete the refined aesthetics of the piece. A credenza of great charm and dramatic presence, ideal for living rooms, entrances, studies, or rooms furnished with antique furniture.
