Vintage Chess and Checkers Set in Volterra alabaster - Made in Italy - 1970s.
A precious vintage combined game set (Chess and Checkers) entirely handmade in authentic Italian alabaster, sourced from the famous artisan district of Volterra (Tuscany), dating from the 1970s/1980s.
The set features beautiful natural veins in the hard stone, with a glossy chessboard in ivory and dark brown tones, equipped with protective felt pads on the back.
Both the chess pieces and the checkers pieces have a base covered in original red felt.

Alabaster chessboard (excellent condition).
Complete set of 24 Checkers pieces (excellent condition, stored in their original box printed Genuine Alabaster - Hand Carved - Made in Italy).
Complete set of 32 coordinated chess pieces in stone (well-used condition: several pieces, including knights, queens and rooks, show chips and wear marks visible in the photos).
