Dressing table set (8) - .800 silver - Toiletry kit

Antique German silver 800 toilette and manicure set, complete with its original case, dating from the late 19th to the early decades of the 20th century, about 1890-1920.

The set consists of seven coordinated utensils, characterized by elegant handles in silver with embossed floral decoration in Art Nouveau/Jugendstil taste. Present, among others, a nail lifter, a shoehorn, button hooks, a file and several instruments intended for manicure and personal grooming.

The handles bear the sponsor mark “800”, indicating silver with fineness 800/1000, accompanied by the characteristic German hallmarks with crescent and crown, system adopted in Germany from the late 19th century. The functional parts of the instruments are made of steel; on one of the blades the inscription “ACIER” is also visible.

The service is preserved in its original green case, with decorative gilded filigree, metal clasps and an interior lined with light fabric bearing floral motifs.

The set presents in generally good condition commensurate with its age. Normal patina on the silver, small scratches, traces of use and slight oxidation on the steel parts are present. The shoehorn shows some small superficial stains. The case shows wear to the edges and corners, while the interior still retains the original lining.
