Incense burner - Bronze

A finely crafted Japanese incense burner (koro), accompanied by its original signed tomobako (wooden storage box) inscribed with "Koro" (Incense Burner), reflecting both authenticity and traditional craftsmanship.

This piece is distinguished by its rich green glaze, reminiscent of ancient bronze ware or celadon styles. The body features elegant gold-painted scroll patterns around the rim and a prominent circular medallion containing the character for "Longevity" (Ju/Kotobuki) on the front. The burner stands on three sturdy legs and includes a lid with ventilation holes for burning incense. The twisted rope-style handles add a unique decorative touch.

The deep green tone and metallic gold accents create a refined and harmonious appearance, suitable for a traditional Japanese alcove (tokonoma) or as a scholarly object. The interior and foot show signs of age and use, adding to its vintage character.

Each detail reflects careful craftsmanship, from the molded decorations to the controlled firing that produced this lustrous surface. The presence of the wooden tomobako further supports its origin as a preserved studio work.

Condition:
Good vintage condition. Please note the age-related wear, including some scratches and patina on the glaze, particularly on the lid and rim, which adds to its antique charm. No major cracks or restorations visible.
