In Strings Attached, La Chibroneuse plays with the boundaries between the body and the instrument. The guitar neck extends the female silhouette while her curves blend with those of the instrument, until it creates an almost unreal presence.

Radical black and white strips the scene of all superfluous elements. Only lines, skin, wood and strings remain. A graphic and sensuous composition where music seems to become an extension of the body.

The title itself plays on a double meaning: the strings of the instrument, but also these invisible ties that bind us to beings, to passions and to emotions.

The work rests on substantial composition work and visual fusion between the female silhouette and the guitar. The contrasts are deliberately intensified to detach the volumes from the deep black background and to reinforce the geometry of the whole.

Photography is the starting point of a process blending digital painting, lighting work, textures and manual retouching. This approach allows La Chibroneuse to transform a figurative scene into an almost sculptural image.
