Rare Large Folio "Hohenlohische Bible" with 212 Copper Engravings (Nuremberg, 1763)
Up for auction is a historically significant Catholic Folio Bible published in 1763 in Nuremberg under the protection of Prince Carl Albrecht of Hohenlohe-Waldenburg-Schillingsfürst, featuring the Imperial privilege of Emperor Francis I.

This volume is complete with all 212 highly detailed copper engravings by renowned Nuremberg engravers such as Adam Ludwig Wirsing, Johann Nusbiegel, and Johann Justin Preissler, illustrating iconic Old and New Testament passages.

Binding: Heavy wear and defects to the binding. Clasps are missing.
First Pages: Front leaves show heavy creasing, staining, tears, and old paper/tape repairs.
