Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Set consisting of a necklace and a ring, both featuring a 4.00 ct oval cabochon opal as the main stone and surrounded by natural diamonds, in 14 kt yellow gold (total weight 24.16 g) with signs of wear and no laboratory report.
Description from the seller
The set consists of a necklace and a matching ring. Both pieces feature an opal as the main stone. The measurements of the ring opal are 14 x 10 x 7 mm. The measurements of the necklace are 15 x 11 x 5 mm. Both pieces are surrounded by diamonds of gem quality as side stones.
For the chain, the diamonds have a weight of 0.18 carats in IF, and for the ring I estimate 0.25 carats. The value could be even higher, I cannot determine it precisely.
Total gold, according to a precise scale, 24.16 g, 585.
I cannot provide any further details. Perhaps you can deduce more from the hallmarks.
I have now photographed and measured everything again.
For the ring, the two side diamonds have a diameter of 1.8 mm; the surrounding stones have a diameter of 1.5 mm, 20 pieces around the ring. The larger ones are 2 pieces. On the necklace, 12 diamonds with a diameter of 1.4 mm, and the large diamond 2.4 mm.
All measurements were taken with a sliding caliper up to the edge of the stones and not to the edge of the setting. So better a little less than too much.
The cabochon opals are smooth and show no damage; the ring and the necklace have normal signs of wear in the form of surface scratches. The jewelry has not been cleaned.
I hope my explanations and photos help you to make a more accurate assessment.
The gold price here, excluding stones, is about €1,600. I hope my asking price is not exaggerated. The exact appraisal and valuation I leave to you.
Yours sincerely,
Norbert Börner
