Giovanni De Simone (Palermo, 28 October 1930[1] – Palermo, 26 March 1991) was an Italian ceramic artist.

Trained in Faenza, where he attended the Art Institute for ceramics, in Palermo in the fifties he opened the workshop “Maioliche d'Arte De Simone,” where he dedicated himself to the production of usable ceramics and decorative wall and furnishing tiles in traditional styles and hand-painted. He became over the years one of the major representatives of Sicilian ceramics. His evolution as an artist led him, in a later period, to create works inspired by primitivism but characterized by a burlesque and festive vein with glazes in bright colors, often given thickness, as functional objects for furnishing and maiolica sculptures in a traditional and modern style[2][3][4].

In 2019, at the Orti Botanici in Palermo, a retrospective exhibition was dedicated to him.
