Description from the seller
Rare and fascinating vintage prints by Pablo Picasso, titled "Retrato de Santiago Russiñol" - "Los Pichones" - "Amantes en la calle", marked VI XXIII XLII of the famous art collection published in 1972-73.
This special edition was commissioned by the renowned Spanish pharmaceutical house Laboratorios Elmu, S.A. and meticulously curated in graphic details by the historic Editorial Harofarma of Barcelona. (Both enterprises no longer exist.)
The peculiarity of these graphic works lies in their double value: on the front it shows the splendid authorized reproduction of Picasso's work, while on the back it presents medical-scientific information and period advertising texts related to the lab's historic drugs.
- They were issued solely to donate to doctors, collaborators of Laboratorios Elmu, S.A. - Therefore limited in very few copies, which today are certainly very rare to find. -
The reproduction was strictly authorized by S.P.A.D.E.M. Paris (1972), the official French body that at the time legally protected the copyright of the master before the birth of the Picasso Succession.
Ideal both for lovers of interior design and of vintage graphic art to be framed, and for collectors.
