Swan-neck handled blue-ground porcelain vase in Empire style, 19th century

Porcelain vase from the 19th century, baluster shape, with an especially bright blue ground.

The decoration, finely executed in matte gold, develops a Neo-Classical ornamental repertoire: stylized motifs, scrolls and architectural elements, arranged with measure and regularity on the body. The quality of the contrast between the intense blue and the gilding gives the piece a strong decorative presence.

The handles, in swan-neck form, fully gilded, are fully in line with the Empire vocabulary, lending the piece a noble and balanced line.

The overall piece presents a pleasing harmony of proportions and careful execution, typical of Parisian productions or related ones from the 19th century.
