Koummya dagger
Ancient Berber Koummya dagger (Jambiya) with leather sheath and silver inlays – 20th century
A Koummya specimen, the traditional curved Moroccan dagger belonging to Arab culture, dating to the 20th century.
Handle and Sheath: Entirely covered with repoussé sheets of silver metal (traditional silver) molded in relief and decorated with intricate geometric and floral motifs. The body of the sheath is clad in brown leather.
Complete with a decorative band featuring multiple suspension rings and characteristic hand-woven metal-wire chains.
Curved blade in forged two-fold steel, with a central rib.
Good overall condition, with the splendid original patina of time on the metal parts and the authentic wear typical of ethnic antique objects.
