Description from the seller
Oil painting on canvas "Gioconda heard a sonata". The author of the artwork is Ukrainian artist Evgen Lyashok. Evgen was born in 1989, lives in Ukraine, in Odessa. For more than twenty years the author's professional life has been closely linked with sacred art – painting and restoration of interiors of churches and monasteries, as well as gilding of iconostases, icons, and domes. Years of work with canonical forms, traditional materials have shaped a deep understanding of structure, color, and light. A natural consequence of these experiences was the author's interest in the avant-garde. Evgen’s greatest inspiration is the era in which Pablo Picasso and Amedeo Modigliani were creating in parallel. Despite vastly different life paths – from Picasso's worldwide fame and wealth to Modigliani's tragic lack of recognition in his lifetime – both revolutionized the perception of form and human nature. Currently the author is working on a cycle of works that combine Picasso’s geometric analysis of cubism, the restraint of minimalism, and Modigliani’s poetic aesthetics. In the artist's paintings, the emphatic cubist planes and the monumental heritage of the past meet the delicate sensitivity of the figure, creating a unique dialogue between timeless classicism, the spirit of modernism, and a contemporary perspective on painting. The dimensions of the painting are 50×40 cm, the painting has painted sides. The colors of the painting may differ depending on lighting and monitor settings. The painting is located on Polish territory, fast shipping with DHL, DPD.
