Lot of 7 booklets on cartomancy, mainly by B.P. Grimaud with Mademoiselle Le Normand, in French and English, in flexible covers, published in Paris by B.P. Grimaud and Gustave Arnould, dating from 1858 to the 1960s, with the Livre du Grand Oracle (1858) including 55 explanatory cards but supplied as a booklet without the cards.

Rare collection of 7 booklets on cartomancy – Grimaud, Le Grand Oracle 1858, Etteilla, Sibylle des Salons and Mlle Le Normand
Set of 7 booklets devoted to cartomancy, tarots and divination methods, mainly published by B.-P. Grimaud in Paris.
The lot notably includes a copy of the Livre du Grand Oracle, published in Paris by Gustave Arnould in 1858, as well as several Grimaud booklets devoted to Etteilla, Sibylle des Salons, the Tarot of Marseille and the practices of Mademoiselle Le Normand.
Contents of the lot:
1. Livre du Grand Oracle – with the explanatory deck consisting of 55 cards, Paris, at Gustave Arnould, 1858. Booklet only, the 55 cards are not present.
2. Old Tarot of Marseille, B.-P. Grimaud, Paris. Explanatory booklet.
3. Old Tarot of Marseille, B.-P. Grimaud, Paris. Explanatory booklet.
4. Art of drawing cards with the Sibylle des Salons, B.-P. Grimaud, 54 rue de Lancry, Paris.
5. Art of drawing cards with the Sibylle des Salons, B.-P. Grimaud, Paris.
6. Method of drawing The Grand Etteilla or Egyptian Tarot, B.-P. Grimaud, 54 rue de Lancry, Paris.
7. The Secret Practices and the Tremendous Game by Mademoiselle Le Normand, B.-P. Grimaud. Booklet devoted to the practices of Mademoiselle Le Normand and to divination by cards.
The booklets are offered without the corresponding card decks.
The copies are from different periods. The Livre du Grand Oracle is dated 1858. Some Grimaud booklets are 20th-century editions/reissues, some dating from the 1960s.
Condition: used, consistent with the age of the documents, with signs of handling, browning and/or foxing on some sheets. The Livre du Grand Oracle shows greater wear to the cover and edges. Please study the photographs carefully.
