Description from the seller
For sale is an extraordinary and complete 4-piece set of the famous series “The Smallest Books in the World” (made in 7 or 12 languages).
These masterpieces of micro-miniature book printing were produced from the 1950s/1960s by the Graphical Bookshop Waldmann & Pfitzner in Munich and distributed by the Gutenberg Foundation Mainz.
This is not merely a photomechanical reduction, but real letterpress printing with types cut from metal. The tiny books measure only about 3.5 × 3.5 mm up to 5 × 5 mm and are bound in genuine leather.
The set contains all four classic issues:
The Olympic Oath (7 languages) – Black leather binding with embossed Olympic rings.
The Lord’s Prayer (7 languages) – Dark leather binding with embossed gold cross.
The Berlin Declaration of Freedom (7 languages) – Dark leather binding with embossed Berlin Bear.
The phrase “I love you” (12 languages) – Red leather binding with embossed gold heart.
Condition and details:
Case: The original white presentation case with red velvet and silk lining and gold interior print is very well preserved.
Capsules: All four books are in their original, diamond-shaped Plexiglas protective capsules. The integrated magnifying lenses are clear and undamaged.
