Signed and numbered by the artist 44/200 - Japan - 2023
Original woodblock print in very good condition. Never framed!
In the margin: 580 x 270 mm within the margin.
Complete paper size: 655 x 350 mm
Very rich colors and pigments, the background is silver (visible in some photos and less in others)
A contemporary master - Hajime Namiki was born in 1947 in Tokyo. Although initially trained as a sculptor, he began creating woodblock prints in 1978. He carves his own blocks and prints each work using traditional methods. These magnificent prints are printed on gold or silver leaf laid onto Torinoko paper. Namiki also uses oil-based paints rather than the more common use of watercolor.
Namiki’s most famous and striking subjects are his nature scenes. Fascinated by trees, he has masterfully captured their majesty and beauty in a modern style with traditional techniques. Namiki prints were published in strictly limited editions and are numbered in pencil in the margins. Namiki signs, titles, numbers and dates his works in pencil.
The print will be shipped between hard fiber boards and cardboard sheets to prevent any damage during transport
